The Legacies Fund supported my attendance at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2012, held in Vienna, Austria between 22-27 April. This huge meeting was attended by over 11,000 researchers across a broad spectrum of geoscience research disciplines. I gave an oral presentation and a poster presentation and this was a great opportunity to present my work on middle atmospheric dynamics to a large number of scientists and meet a number of people working on similar work to myself, as well as many working in different disciplines. I also got to broaden my knowledge by attending lectures and short courses on topics outside the specific research area that my PhD is on.
