ABSTRACT| Recent Australian bushfires have been notable for their intensity, duration and devastating impacts. Fires have caused death and destruction in South Eastern Australia: smoke has degraded air quality across southeast Australia and has travelled around the world.
Dr Mark Parrington explained how near-real-time satellite measurements are being used to monitor environmental conditions and the atmospheric impacts of the wildfires in Australia and across the globe.
